WHY NOYA

Eight Reasons To Choose NoyaPro

Enamel Pins Manufacturer:The Ultimate FAQ Guide

What are enamel pins?

An enamel pin (often referred to as a lapel pin) is a small decorative tack that hooks onto clothes or backpacks, usually for promotional purposes.
Enamel pins are often made of steel, copper, aluminum, or brass and come in different shapes, colors, and styles. In a nutshell, a design is die-struck onto the metal plate and the recession areas are filled with different enamel paints for decoration.
Over the last few years, enamel pins have grown popular among small business owners and corporations. In today’s competitive business world, many have been forced to get more creative in their marketing strategies.
Enamel pins are a simple yet creative solution to brand promotion. They provide a cheap out-of-the-box alternative to advertising a company’s products and values. They are also ideal for gift-giving events and may also serve as good mementos.
Noya is a renowned manufacturer of enamel pins in China. We use state-of-the-art machinery to manufacture bulk enamel pins based on your own bespoke designs. We currently manufacture two types of enamel pins: soft and hard.

What are soft enamel pins?

Soft enamel pins are created by applying one or two layers of enamel paint into the grooves of a die-struck metal pin. The enamel paint serves as a decoration element to style to pin.
Since the layer of enamel paint applied is thin, soft enamel pins are rough on the surface and you can feel the inner lines of the die-struck pin.
When it comes to price, soft enamel pins are cheaper compared to hard enamel pins. This is because they have a less-premium feel and are less durable.
Then again, the pocket-friendly price makes soft enamel pins ideal for mass events such as fundraising events, promotional events, and so on.

What are hard enamel pins?

Hard enamel pins are created by applying multiple layers of enamel paint into the inner grooves of a die-struck metal pin. Again, the enamel paint is used to decorate the pin by making the embossed design stand out.
With multiple layers of enamel paint applied into the recession areas, the pins are then polished thoroughly under elevated temperatures to level the enamel with the top of the groove areas.
Hard enamel pins have a smooth glossy outlook and can be considered more ‘premium’ compared to their soft counterparts. Consequently, they are relatively more expensive.
Thanks to their multi-plastered enamel layers, hard enamel pins are highly durable and serve as lifelong mementos for die-hard pin collectors.

Soft Enamel Pins vs Hard Enamel Pins

Soft enamel pins find wide usage in large events such as sporting activities and charity events. This is because they are more budget-friendly and can therefore be mass-produced at very low prices.
Hard enamel pins, on the other hand, are used in exclusive events such as AA meetings or sororities. They are more expensive compared to soft pins, but it is for a good cause
Thanks to the multiple layers of enamel paint, hard enamel coins tend to last longer than soft enamel coins. They are therefore the ideal choice when it comes to choosing the right mementos for any event.

What are enamel pins used for?

Enamel pins have become increasingly popular due to many factors: they are cheap, practical, can be customized, and above all, they are cute!
That said, enamel pins find usage in a lot of situations. The most obvious one is advertising. Enamel pins have come to be accepted in every business setting as a feasible solution to promotion and advertising. They are an elegant yet cheap way to promote brand recognition.
Another common use for enamel pins is to show some kind of loyalty to others. Whether it’s a friend or a coworker, enamel pins are a great gift to commemorate someone. This is quite popular in military settings.
Since enamel pins can be customized, they are also a great way to communicate a message or show exclusivity. For example, a support group for cancer patients could gift each other with pink enamel pins. Similarly, a military team could get bespoke enamel pins with the country flag as a symbol of patriotism.
Finally, let’s talk fashion. There are really not many ways you can use to style your suit other than having a flashy tie. Enamel pins can add that personal flair. They sit on the lapel of your blazer or shirt and can be a good way to express your personality or mood for the day.
In other words, this explains why enamel pins are so popular.

Where to get enamel pins made?

Enamel pins require lots of special machinery and equipment to manufacture. This makes it difficult to hand make your own pins.
But while you can’t manufacture your own enamel pins at home, you can certainly create your own designs. Noya allows you to submit your own bespoke artwork and designs for manufacturing.
We also have a team of talented designers to help you in picking the right design for your custom enamel pins. On top of that, we have also invested in ultra-modern machinery to produce bulk enamel pins with great precision.
As a renowned custom enamel pins manufacturer in China, Noya is your go-to factory for all your bespoke designs at cheap prices.

How to make enamel pins?

So you have finally figured out the design you want. The only remaining piece to this puzzle is embossing the design on your pin. Well, not quite!
When creating enamel pins, the first thing you need to decide is whether you want a soft enamel pin or a hard enamel pin. This will be influenced by how you plan on using the pins and your budget.
Next, we need to create the actual pin.
Step 1: First, a unique die is created using your custom artwork or design
Step 2: This unique die is stamped into a base metal, usually gold, silver, or brass. This leaves a grooved design on the metal
Step 3: For soft enamel pins, a thin layer of enamel paint is added to the grooved areas, leaving a ridged surface. For hard enamel pins, multiple layers of enamel paint are applied to cover the recessions completely.
Step 4: For hard enamel pins, the applied enamel paint is polished thoroughly to leave a smooth, flat surface. This makes them highly durable and resistant to elements.
Generally, soft enamel pins are cheaper to manufacture but are less durable. It’s also easier to produce vibrant colors on soft enamel pins since only a light layer of paint is applied.
Hard enamel pins, on the other hand, are relatively more expensive. They are also less vibrant due to the many layers of enamel paint applied. But as a trade-off, they are extremely durable.

How to wear enamel pins?

One of the best things about enamel pins is that you can use them to style anything – your lapels, purse, buckle – you name them.
The most obvious place for your enamel pins to sit is on the lapel of your jacket or shirt. In fact, enamel pins are commonly known as lapel pins.
If you like rocking hats, you can also add some flair with custom enamel pins. Caps are probably the way to go here. You really don’t want a bunch of pins hanging on your sombrero.
For the DIY fans, you can also create your own storyboard using enamel pins. This would be a perfect gift for your friends or family.
Enamel pins can be worn on many different items and in many different ways. The only limitation is your own imagination. The idea is just to keep things light and fun.

How to display enamel pins?

Enamel pins are too cute to just be stashed in a jewelry box. Like any other fashion gem, your pins need to be on display. But how do you display your enamel pins on a pinboard into one wholesome work of art?
Never limit yourself because of others’ limited imagination. You can play with the various colors and shapes of your different pins and arrange them however you want on a blank canvas.
If you are not sure where to start, Pinterest is a good place for you to find inspiration from other designers. You can also share ideas with your friends during club meetings and work on something together

Where to put enamel pins?

Enamel pins are a great way to tell a unique story. Whenever you see a scout with pins all over his uniform, the first thing that comes to mind is “Wow! This must be a great scout!”
Every pin in your collection is a chance to tell a great story. And if you have a huge collection, you find creative ways to showcase them all in one artboard.
Great places to put your enamel pins include: pinning them into an existing quilt, corkboard, backpack, suit lapel, visor cap, and my personal favorite, the vest jacket. Who doesn’t love that bad boy look…?

What to do with enamel pins?

Every pin collector has at least once wondered what they should do with their enamel pins. Your pin collection keeps growing, and you don’t know what to do with the beautiful stash. Here are a few ideas.
First, you can use your enamel pins to compliment your accessories. You can hook them on your purse, backpack, or even necklace. Enamel pins can literally be thrown into anything and they will still be cute.
Ever dressed up your pet? Why not? Dogs are my personal favorite. If you have cute jackets for your dog, the enamel pins could go on the lapel. If not, you can stye the leash too!
Lastly, you could get a pinboard and arrange all your enamel pins on the canvas. You can then hang the pinboard on your wall like any other painting.

How to design enamel pins?

Your design is probably the most important aspect of your enamel pin. It needs to communicate the message you are trying to convey and also be factory-ready.
As a general rule, the best enamel pin designs are simple, with conspicuous colors, bold lines, and no shading. Unlike in paintings, you will want to leave out the finer details here. Remember, your design will be replicated on a metal plate, which in itself is limiting.
Today, there are lots of great graphic design software that you can use to design your mockups. You don’t have to hand-draw all your artwork (unless you are really good). Adobe Photoshop and Corel Draw are some of the popular design tools you can try.

How much does it cost to make enamel pins?

This is a really loaded question and unfortunately, the answer is: it varies.
The factors to consider here are quite a handful: size of the pin, complexity of the artwork design, quantity, base metal used, type of pins (soft or hard), addons, and packaging.
Generally, the more pins you order from the factory, the lower the price. For example, ordering 10,000 pieces can get the price to as low as $0.2 each. I know this is not practical for individuals, but it should give you a rough idea of how the price index works.
Larger pins obviously cost more. And if you are using gold for your base metal, you will definitely pay higher than someone who needs their pin on enamel.

Why are enamel pins so expensive?

Enamel pins are considered a fully custom product. This means that they are tailored to your exact specifications.
While the price varies greatly depending on many factors, the most important part is the mold. Every pin design must be matched with a unique die, designed for that specific batch.
Once the mold (die) has been created, it can be used to create as many enamel coins as needed. Since this mold (die) is the most expensive part of the process, the more coins you order the cheaper it becomes for you.
If, for example, you need 10 pins with the same design, a unique die will have to be created specifically for those 10 pins. That means that the final cost will have to factor in the cost of creating that die.
If instead, you wanted 1000 coins with the same die design, the cost on your will be quite lower since the bulk order can easily cover the die costs.
